Fayette County VINELink Coverage
Tennessee Sheriffs’ Association material says all 95 Tennessee sheriffs take part in TN SAVIN. That puts Fayette County jail custody inside the statewide notification service. It reports custody status. It can also send notice of a release, transfer, or escape. Think of it as an alert layer, though. It is not a booking-photo gallery, a court docket, or a stand-in for the Sheriff’s live roster.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office lists no Sheriff-branded inmate app. Its browser-based Zuercher portal is the official current-custody search. VINELink does a different job. It tracks a known person and lets you register for a status change. A general app with a similar county name is not an FCSO product.
The Tennessee VINELink route gives the state and county search entry.

The page shows the official alert channel, not a photo gallery or a court charge.
Search Fayette County Custody
Start with enough identifying detail. Same-name mix-ups happen fast. County TN SAVIN lets you search by offender name, booking number, or both. A booking number is the safer tool. It ties the query to one intake record. Working from a name alone means comparing every returned detail before you pick a record.
- Open VINELink and select Tennessee.
- Choose the county-jail search when following a Fayette County booking.
- Enter the person’s name or booking number.
- Review possible matches and compare custody and facility details.
- Open the correct record and choose the notification option if alerts are needed.
A person may not show up right after an arrest. Intake data has to move from the jail system into the notification network first. For a very recent event, check the Daily Arrest Report route and call FCSO if the person may be at the Criminal Justice Center. A blank VINELink result alone does not mean no arrest happened.
VINELink Fayette Result Fields
A VINELink result answers one question: where is this person in custody? The details vary with the agency and custody type behind them. Read every status as time-sensitive. “Released” means the person left that one reported custody event. It does not mean the case closed. Nor does it mean no other agency holds a detainer.
| Result item | What it means |
|---|---|
| Name or offender identity | The person associated with the participating record |
| Booking or offender number | An identifier used to distinguish records |
| Custody status | Reported state such as in custody, released, or transferred |
| Facility or agency | The participating custodian supplying the status |
| Notification option | Registration route for a later status change |
| State-custody details | TDOC information when the state side of VINE applies |
VINELink does not set bond, change a charge, or publish court outcomes. Those questions go to the Sheriff, the arresting agency, or the right court clerk.
Register for Fayette Custody Alerts
Registration is free and confidential. Tennessee materials describe phone and email options for county alerts. Phone registration uses a four-digit PIN. That PIN lets the recipient confirm or cancel calls. TDOC materials add text, email, TTY, and automated phone options on the state-custody side.
- Select the correct matching custody record.
- Choose “Get Notified” or the comparable registration control.
- Pick the offered phone, email, text, or accessibility method.
- Create and retain the four-digit PIN when registering for telephone calls.
- Confirm the registration and keep the record identifier for later checks.
The VINELink search and notification entry displays the registration workflow.

The blank registration screen shows how an alert signup begins. No personal alert data appears on display. TN SAVIN runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Live operator help is available at (888) 868-4631. Tennessee materials note English, Spanish, interpreter, and TTY support. Still, an alert should not be your only source for a time-sensitive pickup, court, or safety decision.
County VINE Versus TDOC VINE
One brand, two datasets. County TN SAVIN covers a person held through a participating sheriff. That includes Fayette County jail custody. TDOC VINE covers felony offenders. Those offenders may be in Tennessee Department of Correction custody or supervision. Someone newly booked in Somerville belongs on the county side. Once sentenced and moved into TDOC, that person shifts to the state side.
| System | Use it for | Do not treat it as |
|---|---|---|
| Fayette Zuercher | Live county current-custody search | A complete historic arrest log |
| TN SAVIN | County release, transfer, escape, or custody alerts | A court disposition |
| TDOC VINE | State felony custody or supervision alerts | A fresh county booking feed |
| TDOC FOIL | State offender profile and possible photo | A Fayette mugshot roster |
The TDOC Victim Services page explains the state distinction and alert methods.

The state page applies after custody or supervision moves into TDOC’s system.
Fayette VINELink Search Limits
VINELink only knows what agencies transmit. Outages, intake lag, identity mismatches, transfers, and quick releases can all change what appears. It is not a universal national arrest database. It also skips many citations, municipal police reports, court filings, and older Fayette bookings.
For a fresh or disputed status, call FCSO at (901) 465-3456. The official roster beats any single alert.
The Sheriff’s current portal can show arrest date, held-for agency, and release date. It also lists cell block and hold reason. FCSO has an Inmate Records process as well, which proves incarceration for someone already released. When you need an official document, a focused records request is the better route.
A person off the live jail view may still have a retained booking record. A court case may still be open too. VINELink status ends neither. Check the clerk’s docket for the outcome.
Federal Custody Needs Other Locators
Federal custody sits outside both systems. Neither TN SAVIN nor TDOC VINE covers BOP or ICE cases. The Bureau of Prisons locator handles federal inmates from 1982 forward, showing location and projected release, though not booking photographs. ICE runs its own detainee locator for immigration holds. A U.S. Marshals entry in Fayette’s agency field still does not guarantee a match in BOP’s sentenced-prisoner database.
- County custody
- Use Fayette Zuercher and TN SAVIN.
- State custody
- Use TDOC FOIL and TDOC VINE.
- Federal custody
- Use the official BOP locator when that custody type fits.
- Immigration detention
- Use the official ICE locator and its identity requirements.
A “not found” in one system says nothing about the rest. Confirm the held-for-agency label and call the correct custodian.
After a Fayette Alert Arrives
A release alert tells you custody changed. That is all it tells you. It grants no right to confront anyone, clear a warrant, or treat charges as finished. A transfer notice simply means a new jail now holds the person. Route questions there. An escape notice is a public safety warning, and police handle it rather than you.
Hold onto the booking or offender number. Write down when the alert arrived too. If the alert clashes with the live roster, call the facility for the real answer. The Fayette County recent-arrests hub lays out where each record path leads. Docket questions go to the Fayette Circuit Court Clerk. Municipal clerks in the arresting town handle the rest.
